I was working from home today and randomly, connections started breaking (ssh, music playing, etc). Pinging 8.8.8.8 got me a roughly 60% packet loss over a 5 minute period. I have an Arris SB6190 so I went and plugged into it directly and got the same results. I happened to have a Cisco modem from Comcast kicking around, so I plugged it in and had the same results.
A tech came out and found that there wasn't a MOCA filter anywhere, so he installed one, but that doesn't excuse my Arris freaking out. By the time the tech arrived, I was able to ping more consistently and so far my connections have been stable, but I see some very high uncorrectable counts. The screenshot was taken about an hour after the modem was last rebooted
Anyone have any thoughts as to why this a) may have suddenly happened and b) what I might be able to do / suggest upstream from me to remediate?
