I am leasing an Arris TG862G gateway from ATMC (southeast NC). I have tried every post found via Google search to properly set the gateway in true bridge mode without success. My attached TP-Link WDR-3600 router only sees a private IP as the external WAN IP. If it was working properly, I would expect to see the ISP's WAN IP. Here is the HW info on the Gateway:
ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 / SIP 2.0 Touchstone Residential Gateway
HW_REV: 5
VENDOR: Arris Interactive, LLC
BOOTR: 1.2.1.62
SW_REV: 9.1.103S1.SIP
MODEL: TG862G
FW Name: TS0901103S1_012816_862_GW_SIP
FW Build Time: Fri Jan 29 01:54:04 EST 2016
eSAFE 0 FW Revision: TS0901103S1_012816_ARRIS_GW
I've contacted ATMC technical support and they confirmed Gateway is in Bridged mode.
Is this device incapable of acting like a "cable modem only"? Should I not expect the WAN IP on my attached router to be the ISP's IP?
I am able to use the internet properly on most devices attached to my router with the exception of devices that require NAT such as cameras and Skype for Business (during screen sharing).
Any guidance would be appreciated. Attached is the WAN screen from my router.
