I gave in and got the Suddenlink hardware to fix my previous issue (can't use modem/router as wifi router passthrough: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32677265-Turn-sbg6900-ac-into-wifi-router-not-using-modem)
and now I'm fighting against the garbage protections set in place by the ISP.
When I log in to the router I see almost every configurable option is 'greyed out' (disabled/readonly). I used the browser HTML editor to enable the password input field, but every time I try to edit the SSID it just defaults to the original SSID.
I think there is an init script resetting the SSID string to its original value every time the page loads. Has anyone successfully overwritten this? If so, did you just modify the HTML attribute for 'readonly' or did you have to modify the init scripts?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
