There were rumors several months back that a future firmware update would enable SB8200 owners to use both ethernet ports simultaneously to achieve higher bandwidth.
Has there been any new news regarding this? Has anyone given it a shot? I know each port works individually right now, but I wanted to know if it was possible to use both.
Thanks for any insight that anyone can give!

No internet
I have the arris surf board sbg6700-ac and use it as a modem. My router is the netgear orbi. I was trying to set up a server for a game. The port forwarding wouldn’t work so I tried to put the surfboard on bridge mode. Now I can’t get internet even if I plug a laptop directly into the modem. This means that I can’t get into the modem settings to change it back to how it was before. Please help as people need to use the internet and I’ve tried everything I know.

Placing an Arris NVG448BQ Gateway into Bridge or IP Passthrough mode

The title says what I need.
I have an NVG448BQ gateway, but I want to use it purely as a modem for Internet. I don't see anything obvious on the config screens.
Can it be done?

SB8200 drops speed after 15-20 minutes after reset
I bought my own SB8200 to use with Comcast's gigabit internet. I can't seem to hold a consistent gigabit speed. It goes from 950 down to 50-90 down after 15-20 minutes and maintains that slow speed. I removed the splitter between the coax and connected them together from there to see if that would resolve the issue - it doesn't.
There is also a TON of collectables/uncollectables compared to what I've seen in other people's images. Any help? Logs in image below.
Compared to the other thread we have two "not unlocked" messages compared to zero, which I haven't found out what that means.

Arris DG2470 equivalent
Hey guys,
I live in Aruba. And unfortunately we have only 1 ISP, that only provides Puma 6 chipset cable modems.
Right now I am looking for a cable modem/router that is the same as the Arris DG2470 with WiFi, that also supports Moca 2.0. And that doesn't have that messed up chipset.

Thanks

SB8200 losing IPv4 connectivity while IPv6 works fine
I've had my SB8200 about a month with Cox ISP and have a recurring problem where IPv4 stops working but IPv6 is fine. I can only access websites that have AAAA records in DNS with an IPv6 address. Restarting modem fixes issue - restarting my Netgear Orbi router doesn't help. Prior to SB8200 I had a Netgear CM600 and never had this issue. I don't have an OFDM channel yet, my SB8200 modem is connected on 32 downstream and 4 upstream channels.
I telnetted into my Netgear Orbi router to do some troubleshooting. Everything looks good

Did some ping tests. I cannot ping default gateway 174.66.192.1 from my computers or from the router itself.
I can ping IPv6 hosts out on the internet just fine, can't ping IPv4 hosts:
root@RBR50:/bin# ping6 e16.ycpi.nya.yahoo.comPING e16.ycpi.nya.yahoo.com (2001:4998:1c:803::2003): 56 data bytes64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=0 ttl=58 time=33.9 ms64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=1 ttl=58 time=41.1 ms64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=2 ttl=58 time=33.8 ms64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=3 ttl=58 time=33.4 ms64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=4 ttl=58 time=33.5 ms64 bytes from 2001:4998:1c:803::2003: icmp6_seq=5 ttl=58 time=33.2 ms^C--- e16.ycpi.nya.yahoo.com ping statistics ---6 packets transmitted, 6 packets received, 0% packet lossround-trip min/avg/max = 33.2/34.8/41.1 ms
root@RBR50:/bin# ping e16.ycpi.nya.yahoo.com PING e16.ycpi.nya.yahoo.com (69.147.82.219): 56 data bytes
The IPv4 ping test seems to be resolving via ipv6 resolvers based on how long it took to resolve. I feel like it timed out on the three v4 resolvers in /etc/resolv.conf before hitting ipv6 resolvers and getting a v4 IP address back from v6 resolver.
So at this point, I restarted my router. Didn't help anything. GUI said it couldn't connect to internet. So I restarted my modem, and then it worked! Routing tables on the router and resolv.config looked identical after restarting modem - I received same IP address from Cox.
I've had this particular IPv4/IPV6 issue happen about 4 times over course of ownership of this modem (so weekly). Each time, restarted modem fixes. This last time I didn't even both restarting router. I wonder if this is related to this other problem I have with SB8200 where I can't access admin page: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31725961-Modem-Admin-page-blocked-on-my-SB8200
I called ARRIS first, they said there is nothing to configure on modem so nothing to do other than call Cox. Called Cox, they didn't really have any ideas either. Said call next time it happens.
I found similar complaints on Comcast forum (I have Cox service) from both users of the SB8200 and MB8600 (same chipset):

Arris SBG7400AC2 downstream stats issue
So I bought this WiFi gateway from a local Fry's Electronics store new and unopened 2 and a half weeks ago and I'm thinking about talking it back for a full refund because it doesn't want to use all 24 downstream channels. At least 1 never wants to work which is usually ch. 23 but it does sometimes move up or down to a different ch. that will not show its stats after I manually reboot it. Could this be a firmware bug causing this problem? I have also noticed this thing hasn't gotten any firmware updates yet since it's still on the one from Thu Jun 22 14:30:36 EDT 2017 and that hasn't changed since I made a note of it before I even connected the RG-6 coaxial to the back of the unit when I first set it up. I am on the Cc Xfinity 150/5 Mbps PPro plan if that helps.

SB8200 MAC Clone
I've got an Arris Surfboard SB8200 and I'm trying to clone a different MAC address to it. Are there any advanced settings built into the firmware where this is possible? If so are there any other 3.1 modems I can clone a MAC on like the Netgear CM1000?

Arris SB6183 T3/T4 & Sync Time Out Errors
I have been having frequent issues with my Cox internet using an Arris SB6183. One week I came home on three separate days to have the internet down. Connecting from the modem to my computer showed a self-assigned IP address but I was not able to connect. Looking at the logs on the modem there were a ton of warnings and critical errors, like T3/T4 timeout and Sync Time Out Errors.
Can someone tell me what would cause this? Cox has been out multiple times and tells me everything is good on the outside. Even when the internet is up I sometimes I have connections issues, video not fully streaming in HD or 4K, online gaming has issues, high latency and some packet loss. The latency and packet loss could be on the servers end for online gaming but that is still unknown.

Arris TG862 cable modem monitor
Just in case someone find it's useful, there's a simple bash project with rrdtool to monitor bandwidth usage in Linux.
It's intended to monitor an Arris TG862 cable modem using the status page /cgi-bin/status_cgi.
It's very simple to use,
* Create the rrd data source
* Add a cron job to start the actual monitoring
* Use a command to generate a graph showing bandwidth usage anytime you want.
I wrote it and any comment or feedback will be welcome

SBG6700AC on Comcast
I picked up the SBG6700AC last week for $99. I only need it to get me through until the other network get it's WiFi installed, maybe another year. (Long story there)
Anyway, the gateway was working great for about 32 hours then it stopped working. No lights nothing at all. I called Comcast and the support person said she saw the modem in one place and not another and had to have someone else to get it reprovisioned properly. After the go around with this the gateway wouldn't even power up. After pulling the plug and reinserting, the lights would flash and that was all it would do.
My question is: did I just get a lemon or did it get a bad firmware update and get bricked? I had no choice to exchange it for another. The new one went in without any issues. Hopefully I won't be seeing a similar situation tomorrow....

Download Arris SB6183 Event Log?
I have an Arris SB6183 modem and am looking for a way to download the Event Log. Hoping there's a way to do this with PowerShell, as I'm most familiar with that. I would setup a script to do the download, probably once a day, and just write it to a text file. This would be running on a Win 7 x64 machine.
Is this even possible?
Thanks

SB8200 Webpage problems
Hello All,
I just got my SB8200 today and it is working great on mediacom. They are coming out in a week to setup my 1gbit connection but right now I have their 200down and 30up connection which I am getting 270down and 50up. My issue is, I am not able to view the SB8200 status page. I get a purple page that says 404 Not Found, File Not Found. I am going to 192.168.100.1 just like my old SB6190.
What might the issue be?
I will say this. The modem is fast. Like what I have seen others say, websites seem to load a lot faster for me. I didn't really feel like I had problems with my SB6190 maybe I was lucky from what I have seen.

SURFboard SBG6580 - Broken encryption?
I have my wireless network configured to use WPA2-PSK using AES and specify an explicit 256-bit AES key to use (as a string of 64 hex characters)
Today, when attempting to change the explicit key, the firmware is presenting me with this message:
"The Passphrase must be no more than 63 characters long."
...so somewhere along the line, Motorola screwed up the code and now only allows 63 characters (1 character short of what is needed to specify a 256-bit key)
When I bought this modem 5 years ago, this all worked just fine. I periodically change my 256-bit key and the updates have worked fine...until today. Now my current key is displayed as 64 hex characters, but I can't enter a new key that is 64 hex characters...
I suspect Motorola thinks that everyone is going to specify a password (vs. an explicit key) and the password derivation function they're using probably caps the passphrase input at 63 characters (many do). Has anyone else run into this issue?
*sigh* I guess I can chalk this up to yet another example of why allowing devices/ISPs (Comcast) to update device firmware is a bad idea.

Surfboard "SBGxxxx" users: slow config pages?
I have a first-gen SBG7580AC (the one where it didn't say McAfee on the box). Knock on wood, the thing has been rock solid for over a year both as a cable modem and as a wi-fi router. There was a hiccup when Comcast pushed the McAfee update to the router, but I restarted it and declined the McAfee terms and it went away. The modem even performed fine on DSL Reports' Puma 6 test.
However, there is one persistent annoyance: When I go to 192.168.0.1 to adjust the router config, it takes almost 30 seconds to load the login page; and it's slow to switch between pages after that. (It was much faster when I first bought it, so I assume it has something to do with a firmware update.) On the other hand, visiting 192.168.100.1 to see the cable modem status is still instantaneous, as it should be.
Anyone else with an all-in-one Surfboard box have similar issues?
My config for reference:
Model SBG7580AC
HW rev: 1
Bootcode: 4.2.0.45
Firmware: 9.1.103AA18
