Arris S33 seems to have less latency than the Motorola MB8600?

Xfinity is my ISP. I just upgraded my plan to 1200 Mbps down / 35 Mbps up. I decided to upgrade my cable modem from my reliable Motorola MB8600 (no 2.5 Gbps port) to the Arris S33 due to the 2.5 Gbps port, rather than use link aggregation. Overall, the Arris *seems* to have less latency than the MB8600 which I noticed on my work connection from home. But I could just be imagining it? Just wanted to check here to see how others here, who also upgraded from the MB8600 to the S33, feel the S33 compares to their MB8600 in terms of latency / performance?

Prevent Internal Access to Public IP From Going to Admin Pane

I have a server at home which I want accessible via my public IPv4. I set up port forwarding and I am able to access my server via SSH and http perfectly when connected to VPN or a hotspot. However, when I try to access the same domain or IPv4 address from within my local network, I get sent to the ARRIS SURFboard admin panel. Is there a way to disable this behavior and have it such that I can only access the admin panel via 192.168.0.1? ARRIS SBG8300

I have a Arris surfboard sbg6900-ac router. I think the wps button is the button on top of the router. I pressed it to see what would happen and it didn't move easily, its rubbing on something. This being the case I wanted to make sure that I am right about the button and wonder if anybody else has a button like that and if the button is safe and can be pushed without screwing something up. Thank you............

Issue with Zito Media.... Can someone read and decipher an Arris Event Log?

Hello. TM 3402A Modem here: My ISP was Purchased by Zito Media... After the 'switchover' to GSNAT that included a 2-3 day 'down time', system has been crazy.... Zito Saw T3/T4 timeouts, MTA Resets, and 5/22/2022 I found ISP cable end that had never been crimped (Install date on RG11 ISP Cable: 8/2015)... Zito Tech confirmed this and re-ended and tested entire system, from Modem to pole and deemed it good.... MTA Resets have ceased since cable connector replacement. He said my modem was 3db 'Hot' compared to Zito specs, and a 3db pad was added to TM 3402A modem... 5/26/2022. ISP RG11 connected to Quad Shielded RG6 in garage, then 3” dry pipe to house, direct to modem. No splitters. After connector repair and test, Was good for 2.5 days, then I started having Event log items again... When entries start filling up Event Log, speeds, especially upload speeds decay and stagnate... Both ISP's configured TM3402A for 16 Dn, 4 Up channels.... no phone connection.. Wanting to know it was a problem upstream of me, or not, I used a device to ping both my Modem IP and ISP Server IP feeding modem.... Over time, Modem is always 100% successful, but Server ping response degrades over time, and eventually stop communicating altogether... (I have date and time stamped log of when modem is power cyled).. It can be brought back to life with a modem power cycle.... Then the slow speeds that were a tipoff to Event Log entries, and the pings to the sever feeding me, are reset to normal. Purchased speeds are then achieved, All is good. Modem Keep alive was expanded from a 4 minute, 5 consecutive pings loss/Power cycle modem I used for prior ISP successfully for years, with maybe 2-3 power cycles in 2 years, to 5 minute, 6 consecutive ping loss/Power cycle, and daily occurrences.... Modem was New 12/2021.... All IT gear on UPS with AVR, and whole house on Generator... and whole house Surge Suppressor... I have an Arris Status printout of New Modem 10 min after New Modem installation in December of 2021, and it compares to Present Status Printout except for 3 db power difference which I assume is the recently installed 3 db Pad.... Arris Event Logs contain the same 3-4 different messages over and over again... I have captured these and started daily saving to PDF, with Post it notes added indicating when power cycles occurred..... Would someone be willing to look at them and give their best bet as to what is going on? Please note that prior to the May 2, switchover to Zito... Same modem, system here was flawless.... even with badly crimped ISP Cable..... Now I'm chasing ghosts.... Thanks for any reply

If router locks out access to 192.168.100.1

A lot of routers now block access to modem diagnostics, under the idea that a private IP should not be accessed via WAN. Can router diagnostics be accessed on laptop Ethernet connected directly to Modem? If so, what is the command characters? (Info for neighbors with routers blocking modem diags) Thank you

I have one of these modems at my shore house. I wanted to be able to turn on remote admin but don't see an option in the menus. It could be buried there and I am just missing it? I don't have any computers in the house that I can use to run remote access on. Thanks for any help.

Arris G36 Dropping LAN Port Forwarding

Overall satisfied with the device with one frustrating exception. Any insights would be most appreciated. G36 serving as both a WAN (static IP) and LAN router. Port Forwarding enabled on both WAN and LAN sides Port Forwarding works as advertised, except one or more times per day, it stops working on the LAN side (LAN clients can not connect to the server) IPV6 is turned OFF. Only IPV4 is enabled. Error logs are loaded with this type of entry: ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 1086 times 10/09/2022 07:06:57 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 115 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Sun Oct 9 11:05:00 2022 10/09/2022 07:06:57 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 1085 times 10/09/2022 07:05:00 Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 114 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Sun Oct 9 11:02:52 2022 10/09/2022 07:05:00 Critical No other errors noted. Checked my event log, as I do occasionally, and discovered that Zito’s servers didn’t fall back! Deeper in logs I see that a month or so ago they put a server online that had a date and timestamp from 1969!

SB8200 odd front light configuration

$

Hello...I'm new... be kind... I got a new SB8200 to replace the one I'm renting from Astound (by RCN!). Got it all hooked up, called RCN, er, Astound, to get it provisioned. It all looked good from the Astound end. But the front panel lights were in an odd, or at least undocumented, configuration: The "Receive" light was solid blue, but all the others were colorless (but appeared to be lit). Does anyone know what that might mean? The only other abnormal condition was that there was no DHCP server connected at the time, but I can't imagine how that would enter into it. But I'm new. Any ideas? Thanks!
