Please help, Arris SB8200 poor line quality on speedtest.net

I was hoping someone would have an answer for me. I currently own 3 modems. Arris SB6193, Netgear CM600, and a newly bought Arris SB8200. My question is why are two of these modems giving me a line quality grade of C or D, (CM 600 and SB8200) and the 6193 returns line quality scores of A. My levels seem fine on all modems. What is weird is that the Netgear CM600 bonds 24 channels (max in my area) and one channel will return uncorrectable in the 6 digit range. The SB6193 can only bond 16 and I will have errors on 4 channels uncorrectable, yet that modem always returns line quality grades of A+ to B at the worst. The new 8200 has been up for about 2 hours now with 0 correctable and uncorrectable but returns a line quality score of D in the test I have run. Latency, bufferbloat and speed seem fine on all modems. The CM600 and SB8200 speeds peak much higher due to the extra channels I'm assuming. I'm on Cox Ultimate tier 300/30. I usually see sustained speed of 350 - 370 down due to over provisioning with peak speeds hitting up to 500.

It is 7:50 p.m. on Windows Clock It is 23:50 p.m. on Current System time for Modem What gives? I have not rebooted, in the event I have to have a tech come out and look at another issue. Want him/her to see the fantastic correctables and uncorrectables that I have.

SB8200 vs SB6183 & Channels/RAM

Currently have a SB6183 for a Comcast 150/20 connection. Also a Zoom 5370 for second 15/20. Both are 16x4 DOCSIS 3.0. (Note: Two connections... as that is the highest tier currently available in the area. Provides load balancing for a private school.) Theoretically, might the extra channels (32x8) in the SB8200 and better internal hardware (3GB of RAM) provide a smoother performance especially under load (internal or external)? It would seem logical that more RAM might provide some benefit, but would it even be noticeable? If so, it makes a $200 a very solid investment. Absent of any minor upgrade to processing, the only other reason to upgrade would be to future proof when higher speeds are available. In which case, there's no burning need to do this for the client just yet.

After resetting the AT&T U-verse Arris VAP2500 AP via the small reset button on the back of the unit, try the following to gain access to the device... Logon: SuperATT Password: Dc!94@B3 I looked high & low for this information and finally found it buried in a semi-ancient post on the Arris Hardware Forum but it was so old that it was closed, so I'm re-posting it here. It's worth a try, anyway...

I wanted to create a new topic under the ARRIS Forum.. Ok going between the MSO's was getting a little painful saying the same thing.. uid://1552966 reported an ICMP latency issue, ARRIS\Intel has a engineering build that seems to have corrected that issue now lets move onto the UDP/TCP issue.. I am working on recreating what uid://1552966 reported and working with him to get the data together.. I will post when I have have things to say or respond to questions.. If I have an Arris 1602, but a Sagemcom fast 5260, will I still get latency?

I have been trying to narrow down my issues with in World of Warcraft with 5 second latency spikes. After going through some troubleshooting the WoW forums said that it could be the fact that I have an Arris TG1672G. After several phone calls to Spectrum which was almost useless, I was given the okay to switch out my modem if I want to at a Spectrum brick and mortar place, but that they only have Arris modems to give out. I figured I would give it a shot anyway. I go to the their place and explain what was going on and was told that they only have Arris modems. However, Spectrum has started trying something new. They started doing a modem and separate router rather then having them in one unit. I agree to it and get it home. Connect it and still having issues. Wouldn't having the different router help in some way? I want to keep troubleshooting things, but I am limited now in what I can do. I live in an apartment with limited room and no where to really put my computer to hard wire it in to see if it maybe is my USB WiFi adapter. My WiFi adapter is a Netgear A6210 - AC1200 High Gain WiFi USB Adapter — 802.11ac Dual Band USB 3.0. My modem is in my bedroom since I have a PS4 (non-pro) and having the modem in the living room kept it from getting decent speeds. I also have a girlfriend and her kid and my kids, so I try to keep my gaming console off the main TV in the house. I am short on cash, so going out and buying expensive things is not a likely hood, especially after they are going to raise my health insurance up by $200 a month, but not raise my income. EMT wages, what can I do? LoL. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. I may be able to do a MOCA system in a few months and put the modem back in the living room and closer to my PC, then connect my PS4 through the MOCA system. I would like to figure out a solution sooner rather than later though.

SB6141 bad capacitors

Just thought some of you would find it interesting. My SB6141 was resetting a lot and the internet was dropping (lots of T3/T4 errors). Seemed a bit odd knowing they just re ran the main lines in the yards, and the hardware in the boxes out in the yard, and in my case they had to replace the line from the box through the yard to the house. Internet was pretty solid for a few months after that, but lately has gone to crap. Wasn't certain it was the modem but went ahead and bought an SB6183. My 7 year old loves taking things apart, so we took apart the old modem - most of the capacitors on the board were bulged/leaking at the top. Definitely was time for an upgrade.

Arris SB6190 and "Uncorrectables"

$

I have Comcast as my ISP and my SB6190 has been quite reliable until the past couple of days. I'll get brief disconnects where my router shows the connection dropping and reconnecting quickly after that. Both the router and the SB6190 itself don't reboot or anything like that. Anyway, looking closer at the SB6190 I've seen the "Uncorrectables" count for some channels looking like there could be an issue. I've attached an imagine of what that is looking like on the SB6190. Pings from the router to the first hop in to Comcast show no latency or packet loss when the connection is stable. It doesn't happen consistently enough to narrow down yet but its annoying to keep getting disconnected. Fast.com is showing me at 180 mbps which is well above the 150 tier I am paying for. Is this a symptom of poor wiring in the house or on the poles in the neighborhood? Anyone have any insight in to the "Uncorrectables"?

Arris SB6183, My Upload Speeds are severely different on certain devices.

Hello all, I am having a bit of trouble with my upload speeds but not with all my devices. It's been back and forth with my connection so I'll try saying every possible detail for those that need it. My ISP is Zito Media, they bought out my local Time Warner Cable and have taken over their service years ago. I have their Ultra Speed plan which is 100 Mbps Down/10 Mbps Up with no data cap. If I run a speed test on any device, I almost always reach 100 Down easy. My Upload speeds however, will only reach its regular speed on my PC or Laptop. My other devices won't come close to the mark. In this case, my Xbox One speed tests, both in Network Settings and Microsoft Edge app, can reach 100 Mbps down but will only average about 1 Mbps Up. It allows me to connect to Xbox Live but not have a good connection in such games that use P2P connections and sometimes result in stutter/lag or worse, a disconnect. I browsed around my modem status page as well as multiple forums site for some answers for this problem. Now it wasn't always like this. It happened after some network accident dropped everyone's connection in my neighborhood radius for a week due to some SNR drop and some maintenance guys got sent out to fix it. After the disconnects stopped happening so rapidly, I've contacted my ISP with this problem and they pointed the finger at Microsoft and their servers. I'm not sure if that's entirely true or not but I could tell the rep didn't have any other answer that could help. I noticed that one of my 2 upstream channels frequencies was around 27000000 Hz while the other is always around 34000000 Hz. I asked the rep if that impacted the upload and got told that it changes very frequently but shouldn't affect anything. Even with a direct connection to my Xbox, it still would not go past 1Mbps Up. My PC/Laptop with a direct connection still reached its regular speed. It stumped me for the longest time and told myself to let it go to see if it would improve after the maintenance fix settled. I ran a speed test about 3 times a day. After about 3-4 days, some T3-Timeout happened for about an hour straight on my modem and I finally reach my regular speeds on my Xbox. I immediately went to the status page to see what had changed and noticed that both my upstream channels were much closer frequencies. Channel 1 being around 32000000 and Channel 2 being around 34000000. I was happy with my connection again... until it returned with the same issue after they accidentally throttled me. I fixed the throttling after a quick phone call but then noticed the connection problems on my Xbox. Again, PC/Laptop still working fine on both down and up. Checked the status page and saw that upstream frequency has changed again. My friend told me to come this site and post here to see if anyone can help. I'll post the status page numbers down below with details and things I have tried. TL;DR: I have upload problems on my Xbox, but My PC/Laptop is fine. It wasn't always like this and went away after a couple days and noticed upstream frequency was closer. The problem returned again as my upstream frequency changed. I contacted my ISP support and they said it wasn't on their end. Came here for help and advice. Notes: I've tried direct connecting, DMZ, and UPnP. Power cycling Modem, Router, and Xbox for 10 min each. Using different Ethernet cords and coax cables. Different DNS servers. Turning off all firewall and security options on the router. I've done factory resetting on both Router and Xbox. One last question I have been wondering about but can't find a true answer to. What happens when you restore a cable modem to "Factory Defaults" in the configuration tab? I'm sure that it's much like a factory reset. I've heard it should be a last resort but I want to fix this. Would it change my current frequencies? Would I have to re-register my modem with my ISP? I originally gave the device MAC Address to customer service to activate it. Under the addresses tab, it says its original MAC address as "self" and it's current MAC address as "learned". If there's anything else that's needed, I'll try my best to provide details. Sorry for the wall of text and thank you for reading. SB8200 only connecting as DOCSIS 3.0 and not 3.1 with Comcast

Due to the growing unreliability of my SB6190, I went to Best Buy and purchased a SB8200 to replace it. Finally I'd have a true DOCSIS 3.1 modem and a more reliable Broadcom chipset as well. I was able to set it up fairly quickly with Comcast on the phone and initial speed tests seemed to be around the 150mbps range that I had expected. The only concern I have at this time is that all of the lights on the front a green which means that its connected at DOCSIS 3.0 and not DOCSIS 3.1 as my old SB6190 appeared to be in the past. I'd read other threads about people waiting earlier in the year for an update from Comcast and having to reboot to get connected via DOCSIS 3.1. The software version on my SB8200 is D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.0.1.0-GA-04-NOSH at this time. Just wondering if a future update will be needed or why it may only be connected as DOCSIS 3.0 so far.

I have an Arris TG1682G router. I checked Arris Support but couldn't find a manual on the system logs. What qualifies as a WANATTACK? What's the difference between a INPUT, LAN2SELF and FORWARD drop? What's with the C added to DHCP? What do the numbers in the brackets mean? Why is it called erouter0 T1? What are all the possible logs? Information/Guesses: DHCPC is a program in NAT32 routers. Developers could used the same naming conventions. The numbers could reference a specific policy, flag, or function of the software. I've noticed a truncation error in the System Logs. My port was 30000 but was shortened to 3000. However, 4 digit ports stay the same. But I'd like to know the details confidently.
